North Fork Ranch Guide Service Private Water Fly Fishing trips and Shotgun Instruction

North Fork Ranch Guide Service offers personalized shotgun and hunting lessons at Quail Run Sporting Clays and Hunting Preserve. Offering the shotgun enthusiast and upland hunter a high quality and challenging experience.  Quail Run offers a 20 station Sporting Clays range, 5 Stand, Skeet and Trap shooting for the shotgun enthusiast. For the upland bird hunter we offer 3 hunting fields as well as 2 dog-training areas.  In addition, we have a 20 station archery course with 3-D targets.

Kevin is a the Trap, Skeet and Sporting Clays instructor for Quail Run. He is certified through the National Sporting Clays Association and has been with Quail Run for three years.

If you want to learn how to play the game of sporting clays, improve your bird count in the field, or simply improve your shooting skills, Kevin can assist you. (Ammunition and targets are not included in your lesson.)

Kevin will also work with you and your dog on live birds in the field. The purpose of this lesson is to watch how you and your dog work together, to critique your shooting style and help you improve your bird count. (Live birds not included.)

For a truly unique experience, Kevin offers a multi-day Cast n' Blast package which includes a day of fishing at North Fork Ranch, overnight lodging and meals, and a full day at Quail Run. Please see the Cast 'n Blast page for details.

Quail Run Sporting Clays and Hunting Preserve is located in Kiowa, Colorado, just a few miles east of the town of Elizabeth off of Highway 86 and County Road 27. The terrain at Quail Run includes Cottonwood filled creek bottoms where heavy thickets and willows are the norm, or more traditional field hunting areas planted in milo, millet, corn, sunflowers and oats.

Private Instruction:

  • $50.00 per hour for anywhere from 1 to 4 people.
