Kevin Gregory has over 20 years experience
as a guide. He manages and coordinates two miles of the North Fork of the South
Platte River for the North Fork Ranch in Shawnee, Colorado. He has run the fly
fishing program for the North Fork Ranch since the late 1980s. Kevin along with
Dean May, owner of the North Fork Ranch, have spent countless man hours making
the Ranch and the Meadows one of the most popular sections of private water just
an hour from Denver.
Kevin is also a Trap, Skeet and
Sporting Clays instructor. He is the shooting instructor for Quail Run Sporting
Clays and Hunting Preserve in Kiowa, Colorado.
Kevin is certified through the
National Sporting Clays Association and has been with Quail Run for three years.
Why Use A Fly Fishing Guide
For the beginner, there isn't a
lot you need to get started except a quality guide and some patience! In fact,
beginners often make the mistake of buying too much gear or the wrong gear and
then don't know what to do with all of it. Kevin provides all the fly fishing
gear you will need for your guided trip along with quality instruction. He will teach you how to read the river and understand where the fish are found
so you can not only catch and land one, but also properly release your fish back
to the river.
For the more experienced
members of your group, you will have the opportunity to fish some of the most
coveted private waters in the Rocky Mountain area which are only available by
guided trips. You will have the opportunity to land trout averaging 18-22 inches
running anywhere from 3 pounds to as much as 7 pounds.
